TGIM (Thank God It's Monday)

When I first retired, I really enjoyed the new freedom to go out shopping during weekdays. It was a new experience. I was surprised that there were all kinds of old people out and about during the day. They were the folks I never saw when I was forced to do my shopping on the weekends. People who have day jobs crowd the stores to do their shopping on the weekends so retired folks like to wait till the weekdays.

Now I also run errands and make appointments on weekdays--always being careful to schedule things after the morning rush. According to local traffic authorities, this has resulted in a second mini-morning rush as all the other oldsters and I head out to do our errands.

As a result of this, I tend to hole up on the weekends avoiding movie theaters and stores of all kinds. So, come Monday, I am rarin' to go!

Woohoo! It's Monday!

Sounds like you're back to the old work week.

I do the exact same thing! I schedule my errands around traffic and avoid weekend shopping.

But the one thing I've yet to figure out is how I used to get so much stuff done on my lunch HOUR and why my errands now seem to take so much longer to accomplish :-)

Have a great week.

Try shopping at 6 a.m. too, Ms. Sparrow! It's a whole different world out there at that time! Very weird world!

We are lucky to have no real traffic in our little city...I do remember having to take it into account in the big cities I lived in...what a pain...

Having a weird work rotation ( 3 on/1 off/3 on/3 off/2 on/2 off ) compounded by working 10 hour nights, I have no real week-end or weekday to look forward to. I run errands and schedule appts in the morning when I pull into town, but before I go to bed. I look forward to days off though.

I'm looking forward to retirement when I can choose when do do all of those things that I now have to do on the weekends! Sounds wonderful!

I'm the same way...busy during the week, but want to stay home on weekends.
You really enjoy your retirement don't you. That is a gift you gave yourself after years of dedicated service, and you deserve every single happy moment of it!
