I discovered that I can go back through all my old postings and see which ones got the most views. I found this post from October 17, 2009 got a whopping 423 views! What's especially odd is that it got only four comments. Probably someone referred to the posting elsewhere and directed crafters to it.

I got this picture off the Birds and Blooms website. These darling ladybugs are just old painted bowling balls. The directions are shown on their webpage online.
It seems like these lawn decorations would last for many years, unlike the plastic stuff you find almost everywhere. (Of
course, if you've been tortured by the nasty, biting Asian Beetles that
look like ladybugs, you probably wouldn't regard them very fondly.)

What an idea! I like this.
I don't have bowling balls, but a collection of round rocks from the beach. Maybe I should copy some of these lady bugs for my garden.
Bowling ball sculpture is big in Wisconsin. On pedestles, instead of bird baths. Pyramids. Shiny and bright. Did you ever paint up some ladybug bowling balls?
THese are so cute!!!
Nice post! I looked at the source of some of my referrals and your blog was near the top of the list. Not sure how or why, but thanks!
At last! Someone who may believe that I have been savaged by something that looks like a Ladybird! We had a plague of the beasties here a few years ago and they were hungry little critters, but no-one believed me.
The real (non-zombie, non-biting) ladybirds are one of the few insects that don't have me tugging the bell-pull for a swatter from below stairs!
Some people are so creative! They are lovely.
Bowling balls? What fun! If I had seen this sooner, I would have kept ours and brought them with us to Spain! (So, maybe it's good I didn't see this sooner.)
I never knew there were beetles that looked like lady bugs, what a good idea for all those retired bowling balls. Ha.
I have a bowling ball in my backyard, a red one, if you'd like it, Ms. Sparrow. :-)

What a lovely idea! I love ladybugs and these make such eye catching decorations!
I also found it interesting that my post on the Dairy Queen was a "big hit". I really did it as an after-thought, but the reaction was overwhelming!
