A peep from Ms Sparrow

I guess I've been sorta burnt-out on blogging lately. I'm approaching the 4th anniversary of "Ms Sparrow" and I'm still ambivalent about what she stands for. (Like, is she the sort who ends a sentence with a preposition?) Anyway, I blame my inner critic who won't let me get away with anything! I will be back.

I keep what I stand for simple. I stand for the National Anthem, for people older or more infirm than me when they need a seat and I stand for things on high shelves...

But how will we keep up with the turkeys you look after, and all their friends in Ms. Sparrow's little woods.
I would welcome the next installment.

Are your turkeys still about?

Okay ... this ... "Like, is she the sort who ends a sentence with a preposition?" ... reminds me of my mother's favorite joke.

A Southern woman took a trip to New York City, where she was invited to a very high society dinner.

At the table, seated next to a high society New York woman, the Southern gal said, "Hi! Where y'all from?"

The high society matron replied, "I come from a place where one doesn't end a sentence with a preposition."

The Southern woman though a minute and said, "Sorry! Where y'all from .... bitch.?'

Ian--No doubt about it, you are one "stand-up" guy!

Joanne--Maybe that's why I've been so uninspired to blog. A storm in June wiped out a lot of the wildlife so it's been kinda sad and quiet around here.

Jane and Chris--All of the females disappeared when they went off to raise their broods. Not a single one has come back which makes me worry that they all were killed by predators because they nest on the ground.

Bob! You naughty boy! (Well, it did make me laugh.)

Willow--The four male turkeys have wandered by off and on but I haven't seen them for a while now. (I like your "prep" pun!)

Oh yes! Now you tell me warn one who never thought clearly about all this and has devoted the best years of his life to blogging. Too late. To late....

Troutbirder--Being committed to a blog (or two) can really take up a lot of your time.

What timing! I was going to write this evening and ask what the hell was going on! Is that a preposition I just ended with? Oops. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with that! I miss your blogs and hope you'll be re-inspired... Besides, I thought Ms. Sparrow stood for you. Isn't that enough? Come back...

Hi Mitch: That's what I mean about my inner critic! I know it's generally acceptable to end in a preposition, but that old biddy jumps on me all the time about dumb stuff like that. It crushes my will to continue and then I feel guilty and gutless for that. Maybe I will have to change my name to Ms Sparrow Hawk!

Yes! I love the idea of Ms. Sparrow Hawk. Or maybe Ms. Larkspur!
