If Volvo made computers, just think!
A 72-year-old man from New York is in the home stretch to reach 3 million miles on his '66 Volvo P1800S. He paid $4,150 back in 1966 for the red two-door car. He plans to travel this summer and get the 34,000 additional miles racked up.
Just think if all manufacturers made such enduring products!

Those were the days. Great post.
Fantastic - and a wonderful car too, I always hankered after a P1800S. Cars in those days had styling with a capital "style"!
Of course, if MicroSoft made Volvos ... he'd be stuck at the roadside somewhere with the engine announcing that it was going to shut down in ten minutes for a critical update!

Amazing! Cars really did have extra style, I miss being able to open those little quarter lights. Wonderful post.
Oh that's when I loved Volvos! 3 million miles? The most I've ever put on a car before getting a new one has been 42,000!

The P1800 was always one of my favourites. Probably some carry over from watching "The Saint". I've only ever managed to get 400,000 out of a vehicle, and felt pretty good about that. But a million? Wow.
