Wanted: Reliable Muse

I find it amazing that every day after I have read everybody else's blogs and go to my own, I don't have a single thought in my head. I often resort to MyPictures and try to find something to stimulate my Muse--you remember her?

She's the ditzy airhead who likes to mess with me. She gets most productive when I'm lying in bed at night trying to get to sleep or else driving to an appointment. But, when I sit down at the computer with fingers poised over the keys...nothing!

How do you keep blogging regularly without boring yourself? I'd really like to know!

I haven't shut up since I was a year old so I'm not surprised I blog every day. I find it so nice to be able to blab all I want and never be interrupted!

What I like to do is keep a little notebook with me. When I think of something that might make a good blog post I jot it down. I might not use it right away, but at some point I usually do. If I don't write it down, I never remember what it was.

I was had enough ideas for an entire month! If all else fails, try blogging about your childhood, favorite things, a recipe, old photos, movies, TV shows....

You can do it! :)

Kathy and I could have a Talk-a-thon...I'm always bubbling with This or That...but, about blogging, I've found that it's best if I blog Before I read other blogs...why? Well, to keep my thoughts on a straight tract (not influenced by others, thus, more me) and because I think a person wakes up with ideas and words wiggling to come out...hello, Blogville!

Ms. Sparrow, consider getting one of those digital insty-voice-recorders -- when you have a thought, just push the button and talk -- keep it by the bed!!! That way those wonderful but elusive thoughts will be captured for later blogging!!!

I'm actually not as talkative as the rest of your other blogging cohort; I have the same problem you do. Sometimes (especially after working all day) my mind just can't come up with anything.

To help with those moments, I send myself an email whenever I think of anything or read something interesting... I'm one of those people who has an iPhone in her pocket, so I can usually send an email anytime I need to.

Sometimes I do that old cooks' trick of making a bunch of stuff on the weekend and freezing it... er, advance-dating it throughout the week, especially if I know I'm going to be out in the evenings a lot.

Now all the secrets are out. Darn.

Yes, I'm finding that it would be useful to keep notes. Pearl always talks about the little notebook she keeps in her purse, and I've been thinking about doing that. I do often send myself email notes for other things, so that's a good possibility, too.
