Here's to dachshunds with waggly tails!

My granddaughter Samantha has been a diehard animal lover her entire life. While going to school, she worked part-time in a veterinary clinic.
One day, a woman brought in an elderly dachshund named Freddie and never came back for him. As it turned out, the owner moved away and didn't want to deal with the poor little pooch.
The little dog became a fixture around the clinic while they tried to find a home. Samantha fell in love with the little guy. So, despite the fact he probably wouldn't live all that much longer, she brought him home and loved him mightily.

And that's almost two years ago.

Abandoning pets in this way is too common of late.
As for Freddie, look at that muzzle. Not a white hair to be seen. He looks like he wants to be around awhile!

Well done Samantha! He looks as though love has rejuvenated him.

Hello Ms. Sparrow,

I wandered over from Kitty's blog. Very nice to meet you.

I worked in vet clinics for a while and met so many wonderful animals (even brought one or two home with me!) Hope the little guy is around for a long time!

Nice to meet you,
Jen (new follower!)

Good for Samantha. Looks like the little guy appreciates her love for him.

Freddie is adorable. And he is probably a lot better off with Samantha. Sometimes things are meant to be.

Samantha is my kind of girl. What a kind heart she has! And Freddie hit the jackpot when he went home with her.

Blessing to them both-- and you too.

Aww that's a great story! I'm more of a cat person but I'm fond of dogs, and I love dachshunds. Cheers to Samantha for giving him a good home!
