St Paul now has a recycling company that sorts everything. All we have to do is separate the paper from everything else. The glass, plastic and cans all go into the same container. According to the Star Tribune, recycling has greatly increased under this new policy.
I'm so thankful that I no longer have to feel guilty about adding to the stuff going into landfills. I'm thankful that we are becoming more enlightened about our trash and castoffs. I'm also glad that it has added dignity to jobs of the folks who handle the collection of trash and recyclables.
This is just a Win-Win-Win for everybody!

Amazingly, Ms. Sparrow, I saw my very old-fashioned, straitlaced, and conservative father, late in life, start recycling very seriously! He really got into it. I'll never forget watching him washing out cat-food tins to put in the recycling bin...
My mom still recycles at 92! I remember her rinsing out glass jars, and cat food tins too, just like Penniwig's dad. They must have been from the same era.
Our town gave us all containers to put our recyclables in, and they pick it up biweekly.
We're small town USA, but we're progressive!
Hi Ms Sparrow,
Finally got round to catching up !
Celebrating Hallowe'en is relatively new here but it becomes more popular year by year. This time i was prepared for all the ghosts and witches that knocked on the door. There was even a little devil complete with horns in its pram in the supermarket !
Your great granddaughters are bonny and look full of mischief !
Each house here has three rubbish bins That's O.K. for recycling although it does create a problem for the big old houses often converted in four or five flats. There can be 12-15 bins in the garden !
