I tried really hard to get a picture from My Adobe Photostarter Catalog into My Pictures. The picture was taken at my retirement party several years ago. It shows my happy face above my big sheet cake covered with smiley faces. It really wanted to show it off because that was a truly happy day in my life. (I was leaving a very stressful job.)
Anyway, after two hours I gave up trying to get that darn picture posted on my blog. What bugs me is that I have been able to transfer photos in the past but can't remember how I did it.
Being retired means that I don't have to worry about losing my job, ever. Sure--I live on a fixed income, but it's a steady income. I may not be living in luxury but I'm not in danger of losing my home or having to get groceries at the food shelf. Even better, I am in a position to help others who are in tough circumstances. My heart aches for everyone who is out of a job and hurting. Sadly, I know so many folks who are in that situation.
I don't know what the future will hold but I can breathe easy for now. I am thankful for that.

Like I've said before, I'm waiting for retirement !!! That said, I AM thankful for the job I have. It's full-time with health benefits and have enough seniority that the worst that could happen to me would be becoming 3/4 time. After hearing that unemployment is 10.2 % and hasn't been that high since 1983, I've been biting my tongue if I feel like complaining.
I start my little part-time job tomorrow -- how I would rather it be a fulltime one!!! I loved working...my dream right now is to get a good job and be able to work at it until I am retirement age...
Ms. Sparrow, these programs are so confusing -- no two are the same -- can you find the FOLDER where you have your Photostarter Catalog pictures? If so, open that folder...then on the little thumbnail of the picture at your retirement party, RIGHT-CLICK and use the COPY or MOVE command from the menu that will appear and choose MY PICTURES when it lets you browse...good luck m'dear...
Penniwig is always trying to help others out with their tech problems. That gal is a whiz.
You are truly blessed dear Ms Sparrow to have had a good enough position that provides you a comfortable retirement. Pay back for all that stress, I'm sure!
It seems that now, jobs seem to sabatoge the older worker, which robs them of their retirement. It happens again and again. There doesn't seem to be much honor in the employer as there once was...rewarding those for many years of service.
You're one of the lucky ones, and by the sounds of it, you know it!!
We're taking it one month at a time, and have positioned ourselves to survive, because employers do look at older workers with a more assessing eye -- hard, if not impossible to prove, but it's out there.
