I have been trying to eat only healthful foods and stay away from my major downfall--carbs. So, what happens but a neighbor stops by with a loaf of cinnamon bread (delicious) and my daughter brings a big tray of nuts and dried fruits (really good). Every time I turn around somebody is seducing me into eating stuff I shouldn't. I have to keep a very tight grip on what foods are around because if I see I will eat it!
I'm know I'm pathetic (but I try to think of it as an "eating disorder").
So anyway, here is a quick and easy low-fat soup recipe that I make from time to time:
BEST BEAN SOUP
1 can fat-free refried beans
1 can fat-free broth
1 can diced tomatoes, any flavor
Combine in a saucepan over medium heat.
You can embellish the recipe with other canned veggies to make a heartier soup.

My boyfriend is trying to do the low carb thing as well...it's TOUGH! Everything that is good and tasty in the world is carbs! Haha. I myself could never do it! ...partially because I don't eat meat and it wouldn't leave me with many options, but even if I did eat meat, I couldn't!!
I think I have the same eating disorder of if I see it, I must eat it! : )
The nuts and fruits have a lot of nutritional value, so you could work them into your meals along with some protein. Carbs do the most damage when we eat them alone (and in big quantities, of course).
It's so hard to stay on the wagon of good intentions when carbs are so yummy and comforting!
People give you good stuff to eat because they love you and want to share...but....it's hard to refuse when it comes with affection!
Your soup sounds delish. I make soup every week, love to chop, it's my therapy! It should be super easy and fast, nice and thick from the beans...yummy!
Don't kick yourself too hard...life is short. We try, sure we do, but eating brings comfort, memories, and great satisfaction.
Ain't it awful????
Your bean soup sounds delicious! I wonder if putting a big dollop of sour cream and queso on it would be a no-no???!!
It's impossible to resist foods when people are actually bringing them to you!!! No fair!
The important thing is to keep trying...beating a carb addiction is really, really hard! Don't give up!
I know how hard it is. The nuts and dried fruit are actually okay in moderation...it's the moderation part I have a hard time with! The soup sounds good. I'll need to try that. Keep working at it....you will be just fine.
I'm singing the same tune, but I'm off-key. I need to be radical for a few days to get some of my carb needs away.
I hear you! My downfall is chocolate. My husband bought me a pound of chocolates for our anniversary last year and I ate them in under a week! I told him that this year, if he really loved me, he'd buy me THREE truffles.
:-)

If it's in my house I will eat it!!
Hey, I'm making this soup this weekend! Will gather ingredients tomorrow, thanks again for the recipe!
