Bowling ball ladybugs

I got this picture off the Birds and Blooms website. These darling ladybugs are just old painted bowling balls. The directions are shown on their webpage online.

It seems like these lawn decorations would last for many years, unlike the plastic stuff you find almost everywhere.

(Of course, if you've been tortured by the nasty, biting Asian Beetles that look like ladybugs, you probably wouldn't look on them very fondly.)

I've seen bowling balls used in landscaping, but never painted this cute! What an awesome idea...I must keep an eye out at the Good Will and yardsales!☺

Now that is amazing. "Reduce, reuse, recycle" -- with imagination!

I don't think I've seen those beetles you mention yet, or maybe I have, I did see a lady-bug lookin' bug eating on a leaf. It was a bit more elongated than a ladybug but the coloring and dots were so similar!

I heard on the radio, a window washer said he can predict how the winter weather will be based on the Asian Beetle population. This year doesn't look so good, he says. Then I started looking, also no Boxelder bugs. Maybe he's right ??!!
