- I'm a big fan of my home state of Minnesota, especially because all of my kids and grandkids live here. I'm retired but keep busy with puttering, volunteering and writer's groups. I have three well-loved kitties who keep me smiling. I am surrounded by trees and wildlife even though I live within a few miles (as the crow flies) of the state capitol building in downtown St Paul. This keeps me quite contented.

Fun pictures and a beautiful picture. I've got doggies on my mind!
Pepper-John looks like my kind of dog. Like people, you never stop missing them.
There is a lifetime of love and character in that beautiful doggy face. There are some dogs who just step right into our hearts, and never leave. How did Pepper-John get his name?
Aw, Pepper John what a great name for a special dog, we still miss our dogs, we have cats now.
Pepper-John had the sweetest face, and I just know the personality matched.Thank you for sharing him with us.

I remembered Pepper-John, but the face was elusive in my memory. Thank You for giving that back to me. He was a sweet dog who found a forever home in our family, but most of all, in our hearts.
Buttercup: I love dogs as well as cats but the condo assn only allows cats.
Owl: Pepper showed up one day and adopted us. He had a lot of heart and fierce loyalty. He would literally patrol the boundaries of our lot and chase away other dogs.
Elaine: When my kids were young, they gave all of our pets second names. Our other dog was named Kippy Ann. Both dogs had brown eyebrows which I find so adorable.
Linda: I have three cats now too. I often say that three cats equal one dog--in terms of care, etc.
Jane and Chris: He was such a huggable dog and kinda goofy looking. He had short bowed legs and a long body, but his sweet face and personality really shone through.
Cindy: He was the last dog I ever owned and that may be partly why I miss him. It doesn't seem possible that it's 30 years since he died!
These all made me laugh and then Pepper-John warmed my heart. Sorry you have to miss him so much, but so glad you had such a sweetheart in your lives.
Mitch: He was one swell doggie. He had a broken fang and one leg that didn't quite hit the floor when he walked which made a distinctive pattern to his gait. But he was full of fire and passionate in his hatred of the guys who came and stole our garbage every week!
Pepper John is a cute name for a dog!
They're all great but the first one is my fav, and the last one is sweet and poignant.
