I decided not to think about my 400th posting and just get on with it. The crabapple tree off of my patio is in full bloom--a full three weeks early. This seems to be the case nationwide.
A friend who recently returned from her annual trip to Maui said that everything was three weeks early there as well. She saw flowers blooming that she had never seen before.

A taste of things to come! Our apple trees are just showing tiny green buds...it snowed overnight and this morning...I hope this hasn't done any damage.

My lilacs are almost full with leaves and my rhubarb is making an attempt to get over 8 inches tall ( a neighbors is already at 12-14 inches). I saw a Canada goose with 3 chicks, its only April 24. Hmmmm
A mild winter was nice, but, my allergies and asthma are at the worst I've ever had before. A trade off ?
We're busting out all over, too. I guess that means summer will be longer.
Our crabtree apples have finished blooming. Mother Nature has truly rushed the seasons. The lady's not a happy camper. And, if this is your 400th post, CONGRATULATIONS AND BIG APPLAUSE! Great job!
Lovely crab apple tree. Well done on all those posts - and here's to the next 400! Spring is a springing over here too - if we could just have some sunshine instead of rain everything would really get going.
I love crab apples, I remember some from Maryland when I was a child in fourth grade they had slightly pink blossoms as I recall and the crab apples were fun to eat in the summer.
A crab apple tree! That's a sweet memory from my childhood.
