We would keep an eye out for her car to round the corner from the highway before we started them, and what could she say? There we were doing the dishes when she walked in. We got to goof off for as long as possible and they still got done, but of course we should have been more thoughtful and had them done when she walked in the house.
For years, I hated doing dishes, now I kind of enjoy it.Teresa Evangelinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05495114564099989481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037665037475387929.post-1629297224692451452012-02-09T11:17:02.157-06:002012-02-09T11:17:02.157-06:00Joanne: If badly rinsed dishes were gonna kill you...Joanne: If badly rinsed dishes were gonna kill you, many of us would be long dead!

Chic: I wonder if kids still have to do the supper dishes anymore!

Joanna: I kinda think I clipped that poem from either the Dear Abby or Ann Landers column.

Mitch: Obviously, none of my kids were as clever or witty as you are!Ms Sparrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03417670251423549014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037665037475387929.post-41380085324292204962012-02-09T09:55:18.298-06:002012-02-09T09:55:18.298-06:00Love the poem. But, if I were one of your kids, I would have argued to NOT wash the dishes so we would always HAVE the "stack of evidence."Moving with Mitchellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12954028272162285597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037665037475387929.post-11054622690538511332012-02-08T22:47:55.346-06:002012-02-08T22:47:55.346-06:00Very nice poem!

I'm pretty sure the poem wouldn't have changed anything back then.... but now I'm pretty sure it would draw a smile or two.

Thanks, jjJoanna Jenkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10836376588710862173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2037665037475387929.post-47317501197441951012012-02-07T17:50:18.133-06:002012-02-07T17:50:18.133-06:00Ah, I don't remember the poem, barely, but I s...Ah, I don't remember the poem, barely, but I sure do remember the fights. Speaking of modern technology, my dad used to ask how soon detergent from poorly rinsed dishes would cause the demise of the human race.Joanne Noragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09834682329952369721noreply@blogger.com
